The next Kiss My Disco ...
Kiss My Disco is a mobile club night run by DJ's with learning disabilities and OPEN TO ALL.
There is an ever strong demand by the learning disabled community to have more club nights and a more active and 'age appropriate' social life.
We aim to create opportunities for true integration by holding Kiss My Disco events in 'mainstream' venues and opening the doors to all. We believe there is a lot to be gained by people mixing outside of their normal social networks and as a result, making new ones. This works both ways and can only enrich the community at large.
Kiss My Disco is run by adults with learning disabilities, from the door to the DJs to the decor.
Kiss My Disco promotes ...
- empowerment through ownership.
- learning new skills and managing responsibilities.
- achievement and increased confidence.
- challenging stereotypes of the 'learning disabled'.
- equality and opportunity.
- full integration of the learning disabled and 'mainstream' communities.
